A custom Maserati isn't the only new toy our man Lapo Elkann has to play with...
last week he launched a new bespoke yacht he's calling the Maserati of the seas. Part of the foppish Fiat heir's new vehicle customization firm Garage Italia Customs, it's the first launch of the super-fast Baglietto MV13 series, which he helped design. Dubbed the LAP-1, it features a military-inspired bespoke digital camouflage paint job. No mere skin or wrap, it was painted by hand in five different shades with a transparent matte lacquer on top. All Baglietto customers can now order bespoke finishes in the best Italian made-to-measure sartorial tradition.
The 45-foot aluminum hulled draws inspiration from military underwater assault vessels with its aggressive lines, and offers comfortable overnight accommodation for two in a V-shaped double berth. The luxury yachts huge twin MAN 800hp engines provide for a blistering top speed of 37 knots. Lapo has been helping revitalize the storied Baglietto brand, including designing their new logo. Garage Italia Customs, dedicated to the Tailor-Made Culture, is meanwhile gearing up to open its new studio and workshop in Milan. We expect to see some other nifty vessels issuing forth shortly.
