Champagne Safari

Time to start packing  – we’re setting course for Mexico City

where some culinary magic is about to take place aided and abetted by our favorite bubbly, the incomparable Maison Krug. The famed French champagne house is collaborating with the ultra-luxe St. Regis Mexico City on a cool new pop-up dining experience dubbed La Table Krug. With a single table seating just 12 very lucky guests, Executive Chef Sylvain Desbois, formerly of Le Bristol in Paris, creates delectable 11-course menus designed to pair perfectly with various Krug vintages, using ingredients from around the world including King crab, Sologne caviar, Wagyu beef, Kumamoto oysters, black truffles and Maine lobster.

The setting for so much succulence is a Carrara marble table adorned with bespoke plates, cutlery and glassware comprised of different materials and textures. The sleek 31-story hotel not only has posh suites where you can settle in for the night after dining like a king, their spa is also rolling out some wine-based treatments to help you recover in style. Olivier Krug, sixth generation of the Krug family, says Krug enthusiasts are “passionate people with unique personalities and strong self-confidence[,] lovers of contrast and paradox who seek unforgettable experiences with pleasure beyond perfection.”No wonder we like it so much….

We’re talking two new single malts from Islay, of course, land of the smokiest whiskies in the world, courtesy of two of our favorite distilleries. The first, Ardbeg, was established in 1815 on an especially craggy bit […]

Words by: JPS for duncan quinn Once in a while the spirits world produces something so extraordinary it’s almost shocking.
