The Greys Anatomy star has morphed into the new Steve McQueen, doing some very serious racing around the world at the wheel of Aston Martins and Porsches. And he showed hes no dilettante with an impressive second place finish with his Porsche 911 RSR in the LM GTE Am class at Le Mans this year. Which hasnt left him much time for one of his other professions brand ambassador for TAG Heuer. However he recently made it to Switzerland to visit the TAG Heuer Watch Manufacture in La Chaux de Fonds for the first time, and brushed up on his watchmaking skills. He also met with Jack Heuer, great grandson of the company founder and Honorary Chairman of the brand.
Also on hand was Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of Tag Heuer and President of LVMHs Watch Division something of a heavy hitter, you might say. Dempsey easily found his way around the atelier and impressed the watchmakers with his horological savoir faire. Dempsey made the trip while in Europe to race at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and at the Nrburgring in Germany. He credited Heuer instruments with helping him achieve his impressive Le Mans result of 331 laps at an average speed of 205 km/h. He doesnt plan to slow down anytime soon, but he is working on a new TV series about Phil Hill, the Ferrari driver who in 1961 became the first American to win the Formula One world championship. Sounds a lot cooler than McDreamy.
