That’s Entertainment: Icons Galore
Words by: JPS for duncan quinn
We know you’re doing most of your Christmas shopping here at DQ.
But don’t overlook the treasure trove of stylish items to be had at Bonhams’ Entertainment Memorabilia sale in London on Dec. 10, including some lots featuring our favorite icons of silver screen and rock & roll. Celebrity-owned guitars have been fueling the memorabilia market of late, though only the coolest models – owned by, say, The Jam’s Paul Weller, make the grade as far as we’re concerned. So the one we’ve picked out from the auction for your delectation is actually in pieces, smashed to bits by The Who’s Pete Townshend. F—k yes.
Herewith our other selections from the sale, including some killer Terry O’Neill snaps of the King of Cool and David Hemmings driving the 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Drop Head Coupé in Blowup. And how about a shirt hand painted by Johnny Rotten? There are some real deals to be had here, but only if you’re quick on the bidding; quicker than us in any case….
