Quinn Rosé

The Story

Classic Rosé. Just the way it should be. Made just north of St Tropez in Provence, France. Dry, light, and refreshing with just a hint of peach and melon. Make sure to drink in the company of gentlemen, rogues, characters, and sunshine.

Duncan Quinn (“DQ” to his friends) began drinking rosé on the beaches of the Côte d’Azur in 1982. Given that he spent three months there a year for decades its not surprising he knows what an authentic rosé should taste like. Needless to say he had friends who made the stuff.

DQ moved to New York City in 1998. And was amazed that some sweet, sickly, pink stuff sold at Bodegas was what Americans thought was rosé.

So after many years of avoiding blush Zinfandel like the plague, he had the impetus to help set things right. In 2012 one of his more charismatic clients asked him to organize an extravaganza for the Grand Prix de Monaco. Of course, aside from the Krug and Chateau Palmer the DQ yacht was also very well stocked with Quinn rosé. Bottled specially for the occasion. The 200 foot classic racing Schooner which competed regularly in the St Barths Bucket Race may have helped.. But the quality of the wine is what really shone through. And the guests asked how they could get some in the USA when they returned. So later that year the first QuinnRosé was imported into the USA.

By early 2019 Quinn Rosé has become the rosé of choice at such fantastic establishments as the 1 Hotel in Dumbo and Miami, the Williamsburg Hotel, The Roxy Hotel, SpiN, St. Cloud, Gallow Green at The McKittrick Hotel, The Standard Spa, Nikki Beach and more.

How It's Made

Quinn Rosé is made by artisans in Provence who have been making rosé since 1922 approximately 20 miles north of St Tropez. Our grapes are sourced from around 600 hectares of vines in the heart of the Appellation Côtes de Provence, just north of the famous beaches of St Tropez. The vines are located in the limestone foothills of the Maures massif in the southern Var which is between the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps. This terroir benefits from a Mediterranean climate perfect for traditional southern varietals first planted by the Romans centuries ago.

The varietals are Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan. Sometimes with a little Rolle or Mourvedre too! The parcels are vinified separately, allowing for more character and complexity, and then blended just like the finest champagnes, to produce a consistent taste from vintage to vintage.

Our winemaker regularly wins numerous awards at competitions such as the Mondial du Rosé and the Concours General Agricole.
